This summary shows homes sales from March 1 to May 28 for Clarke and Oconee Counties for 2019 vs. 2020.
The spring real estate market is nothing like any other we’ve seen. At first, it seemed like everything would completely shut down and nobody would be buying homes. However, the strong seller’s market we were in before Coronavirus seems to be moving ahead. We have seen a small decline but with interest rates around 3%, it’s a great opportunity for anyone who is in the market for a new home.
Just looking at Oconee County for May 1-28, there were 66 closings in 2019 and 44 closings in 2020. We are still seeing multiple offers on homes that are priced well and often they sell for more than list price. This is especially true for lower-priced homes in Clarke and Oconee.
