It’s always fun to discover new places to shop around Athens, and it seems that I’m a little late in discovering this one — Opa Robby’s Market fresh produce and more!
Opa Robby’s Market
Last week, I drove by Opa Robby’s Market and almost continued on my way, but decided to turn around and check it out. A friend had mentioned that they sell goat milk, so I was curious about what else they have. Its a pretty unlikely location for a farmer’s market so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
In case you haven’t seen it, it’s in the old tire store located in front of Target. There is an entrance right off Atlanta Hwy or you can turn in to Target and go in the back door. It’s way easier access than I thought it would be.
For Sale at Opa Robby’s Market
It was certainly a surprise when I got inside! They have a great selection of prepared casseroles, soups, frozen flavored lemonades, fresh local vegetables, jams, sauces, teas, deli items and much, much more!
They offer a few gift basket options on a regular basis. On their Facebook page and saw that they have Wonderful Wednesday where buying $40 worth of their products gets you a $15 discount! They’re also promoting a few options for Mother’s Day Gift Baskets.- I know I’d like one of those!
On the day I visited, they had some delicious tomatoes for sale. They weren’t local but the sign said “vine ripened”. I’ll be stopping by for more and wonder what they’ll offer when we are in the full-swing farmers market season!
They sell Tink’s Grass Fed Beef, local honey, local lip balm, raw cow’s milk (no goat milk) and my favorite is the lavender and rice stuffed bunny!
I don’t know how I’ve missed this place for so long but now that I’ve been there, I will be back! I only bought tomatoes on my first visit but want to try some of the soups and casseroles. It seems like a delicious, quick addition to what’s for dinner!
Homes for Sale in West Athens
These homes are currently for sale in west Athens. It’s so convenient for getting to downtown Athens or Hwy 316 to the new shopping centers on Epps Bridge Parkway and an easy commute to Gwinnett County and Atlanta.
Thanks for your support of Opa Robby Market- I just found your beautiful article and it just happened to be written in Oma’s birthday last year!
