What can you do to make the home inspection better?
During a home inspection yesterday, the inspector discovered this baby squirrel in the attic. You may not know about critters in the attic… but here are a few things you can do to reduce the items needing repair on the inspection report.
- Change filters in your HVAC unit. If it has been serviced recently, let your agent know or leave a copy of the receipt
- Check for leaks under sinks, around the dishwasher, at shower faucets, and toilets
- Look in crawl space for leaks
- Have chimney cleaned
These are some of the most commonly requested repairs after inspection. They are common problems that are easily fixed. Be sure that you have disclosed any problems you’re aware of on the seller’s disclosure statement and leave receipts for any recent repairs.
